Guy proposed the following trade:

I give up:

Cadillac Williams
Darrell Jackson
Baltimore's D

I get:

Marshawn Lynch
Andre Johnson
Dallas's D

It should be noted that I'm pretty thick at RB and a little weak at WR as noted here. Also, I have Minnesota's D, which should be pretty good this year.

This guy has a hard-on for Baltimore's D, they're his favorite team and he had their D on his team last year and they sometimes scored half of his total points.

I'm thinking of countering with Reggie Wayne instead of Andre Johnson, what do you guys think?

Hell, here is his whole team and mine:

HIS:
QB: Carson Palmer, Matt Leinart
RB: Reggie Bush, Cedric Benson, Marshawn Lynch, LenDale White
WR: Randy Moss, Reggie Wayne, Andre Johnson, Devin Hester
TE: Kellen Winslow, Dallas Clark
K: Adam Vinatieri, Matt Scobee
DEF: Green Bay, Dallas

MINE:
QB: Drew Brees, JP Losman
RB: Larry Johnson, Ronnie Brown, Travis Henry, Cadillac Williams
WR: Steve Smith, Lee Evans, Laveranues Coles, Darrell Jackson
TE: Chris Cooley, LJ Smith
K: Neil Rackers, Matt Stover
DEF: Baltimore, Minnesota

Lynch > Caddy
Johnson > Jackson

Jump on it and don't look back.

What about the defensive downgrade though? With Brees, LJ, Steve Smith and Baltimore's D starting every week, it'd be almost impossible to miss the playoffs (8 team league, top 4 make playoffs) unless one got injured for the year.

That's the thing, Lynch would sit on my bench, Andre Johnson would sit on my bench and Dallas's D would sit on my bench. Basically I'd be giving up my starting D (best in the league) and 2 backups for 3 backups that wouldn't play.

Doubt I'll even try and counter, kind of talked myself out of it. I think I have one of the best teams in the league, no need to mess with it.

I would make this trade in a heart beat. Dallas Defense will be alot better under Phillips and Lynch and Williams are the same and Andre Johnson is better than Darrell Jackson plus Jackson is damaged goods with his knee problems.

Wow, you guys really like this huh? Do you just not like Baltimore's defense or what?

In any event, if you guys liked that proposal I'm guessing you're really gonna like the one he just proposed:

Reggie Wayne and Dallas's D for Laveranues Coles and Baltimore's D.

Take the second one without a doubt, the first is not worth losing Baltimore no ifs ands or buts about it!!!

You HAVE to do this trade. Absolutely no defense is worth this WR upgrade. Wow!!

I'm not too sure about this one.. Seems like you guys are taking the Balt D for granted.

What you guys are forgetting or missing is that Coles is not my starting WR. Right now my starters at WR are Steve Smith and Lee Evans. So it's not how much of an upgrade Wayne is over Coles, it's a question of how much of an upgrade Wayne is over Evans.

These are Yahoo's projected numbers for 2007:

Wayne 111
Evans 103

Baltimore 181
Minnesota 137 (I would be starting Minny not Dallas)

So I'm gaining 8 points at WR but losing 44 at defense. This is why I don't think it's worth it.

I didn't even notice that, that changes things. Still, you may be able to work out a deal where you flip one of your receivers for something but I probably wouldn't do the trade now based on your circumstances.

Any more opinions on this now? Thanks.
